Experience
Andrew Shearwood has practised extensively in the financial services and corporate areas for over 25 years.
Andrew works in the areas of funds management; equity capital markets; mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures; the regulation of listed and unlisted companies and their directors; and corporate governance in general.
In particular, Andrew has advised on:
- the establishment and operation of managed investment schemes which have invested in, or administered investment portfolios in the stock market, real property (including regional shopping centres and commercial property), retirement villages and various forms of agribusiness (including forestry, horticulture, viticulture and cereal crops)
- the regulation of the Australian Financial Services Industry including licensing and disclosure obligations of licence holders
- the ASX listing of various companies and trusts including, Peet Limited, the Bunnings Warehouse Property Trust, the LinQ Resources Fund, the Multiplex Acumen Capital Securities Fund, Natural Fuel Limited, Australian Plantation Timber Limited, Great Southern Limited, Integrated Tree Cropping Limited, Ausron Limited, Global Wine Ventures Ltd, and associated asset acquisitions
- capital raisings by listed and unlisted companies and managed investment schemes, and
- negotiated acquisitions or sales of a wide range of businesses and assets, including insurance; timber processing; engineering and manufacturing; retailing; wine production and distribution; retirement villages; funds management; and agribusiness.
Andrew was named as one of Australia’s best equity capital markets lawyers in the Best Lawyers peer review survey issued in March 2010.
Professional background
Andrew studied law at the University of Western Australia where he gained a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and Bachelor of Laws.
Andrew is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia and The Australian Institute of Company Directors.
