Andrew is a director with Greenwoods & Freehills responsible for its GST practice.
Experience
Andrew advises on GST matters across a wide range of industries, including financial services, property and energy and utilities. He also provides GST planning and compliance advice in relation to the major transactions the firm advises on. He has recently been involved in resolving major GST audit issues and lobbying on legislation changes.
Andrew spent one year with a boutique indirect tax practice and six and a half years with the tax practice of an international accounting firm before joining Greenwoods & Freehills in September 2002. During the implementation of GST from 1998 to 2000, Andrew advised various industry bodies as well as leading projects at several major Australian companies.
Professional background
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons), and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the Australian National University. Andrew is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and is a fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Andrew is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia GST subcommittee and a longstanding member of GST working groups at the Investment & Financial Services Association and the Property Council of Australia.
