Freehills advises joint lead managers on ANZ’s $750 million hybrid offer

 


Freehills is acting as legal counsel to ANZ Securities, Commonwealth Securities, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs JB Were, Macquarie Capital, Morgan Stanley, Westpac and UBS AG, Australia Branch on their role in Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd’s $750 million hybrid offer.

The Freehills team advising the joint lead managers was led by partner Philippa Stone and supported by senior associate Amy Goble and lawyer Carl Hornigold.

Freehills’ capital markets team recently advised the Commonwealth Bank of Australia on its A$2 billion hybrid issue and has also advised issuers or underwriters on many of the most significant deals of recent times, including Babcock & Brown Infrastructure’s $1.8 billion recapitalisation, Santos’ A$3 billion non-renounceable entitlement offer, Elders Limited on its complex and multi-faceted recapitalisation and CSR Limited’s A$375 million raising conducted by way of a new structure, a simultaneous accelerated renounceable entitlement offer.
