Careers

Our competition law practice comprises partners, lawyers and economists with complementary expertise both in terms of areas of law and industry experience. We also bring a multidisciplinary approach to the practice of competition law and dealing with regulatory issues.

One case might bring together lawyers from both a litigation and commercial background, with expertise in, for example, financial services, telecommunications, energy or aviation, working with economists and industry experts to achieve the optimum outcome for our client.

Lawyers in the practice can expect to be involved in analysing industry sectors, dealing with regulators such as the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, drafting and presenting detailed submissions, and assisting and advising the litigators in the preparation of litigation.

The competition law practice has a strong philosophy of knowledge management and group learning, which is actively implemented with the provision of expert competition law resources, regular group meetings and seminars and encouragement of individual development of writing and presentation skills. It especially encourages the acquisition of cross-disciplinary skills in the area of industrial organisation economics and regulatory theory.
