Professional background

Sarah is registered as a patent attorney.  Sarah has a Masters degree in intellectual property law from the University of Melbourne, and is also a registered trade mark attorney. 

Sarah received a Bachelor of Science degree with honours in genetics and biochemistry from the University of Melbourne in 1996. Her honours involved advanced studies into various aspects of molecular biology applied to research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of human disease.

Sarah’s early career experience involved working as a research assistant with the genetics and bioinformatics group at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne, Australia.

Prior to joining Freehills Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys, Sarah was involved in managing consulting activities and intellectual property portfolio of the University of Melbourne through its commercial and consulting arm, Melbourne Enterprises International Ltd.
