Nick’s principal practice areas cover private equity transactions, other negotiated sales and purchases of business, joint ventures and commercial contract advice for a range of clients across a range of industries.

Nick is the co-chair of Freehills’ Private Equity group, which includes private equity, leveraged debt and public markets lawyers and has consistently been rated by PLC Which Lawyer? as a leading private equity law team in Australia.

Nick has over 20 years experience in private equity transactions in both England and Australia and is one of only two lawyers in Australia named in the International Financial Law Review’s 2006 global listing of 25 leading private equity lawyers. He is also listed as highly recommended in PLC Which Lawyer? magazine’s 2006 listing for private equity lawyers in Australia.

Nick’s private equity practice focuses on leveraged buy-outs and expansion capital transactions. Professional background

Nick grew up in England, graduated in law from the University of Cambridge and worked in private practice in the City of London, becoming a partner of a city firm in 1989.

Nick became a partner in Freehills in 1991.
