Current practice

Catherine Jouguelet joined Freehills, Sydney in 2001 where she specialises in trade mark law. Catherine has responsibility for a number of major trade mark portfolios. Prior to joining Freehills, Catherine worked for a leading European law firm in Paris and London where she practised in the field of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters, and in particular trade marks.

Industry experience

Catherine advises Australian and overseas clients in the area of intellectual property and trade marks including:
  • trade mark creation and protection strategies
  • prosecution of trade mark applications
  • removal actions for non-use and oppositions.

Professional background

Catherine qualified as a lawyer in France in December 1998. Catherine has been a registered trade marks attorney in New South Wales since October 2004.

Catherine has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from the University of Paris-Assas and a Master of Laws degree (majoring in industrial property) from the University of Lyon.
