Caroline Baker is a solicitor and trade mark attorney with the Melbourne office of Freehills Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys.

Caroline's current focus is on trade mark law and her practice includes:

  • advising on trade mark creation and protection strategies
  • managing trade mark portfolios
  • conducting searches of the Australian trade marks register, as well as registers overseas, and providing opinions on the use and registrability of trade marks
  • preparing, filing and prosecuting trade mark applications in Australia and overseas
  • conducting opposition and revocation proceedings
  • reviewing, drafting and negotiating assignment agreements
  • conducting due diligence enquires and
  • advising on other areas of intellectual property

Industry experience

Prior to joining Freehills Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys in January 2000, Caroline practised for two years as a solicitor and trade mark practitioner with a specialist intellectual property law firm in South Africa.

Professional background

Caroline has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Natal in South Africa. She is admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of South Africa and has qualified as a trade mark practitioner in South Africa.

Caroline is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and is registered as a trade mark attorney in Australia.
