Current practice
Philip Christensen has practised in the field of general corporate law since joining the firm as a solicitor in 1980. He is a partner in the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions group.He lived in Jakarta and Singapore in 1985–89 working for Freehills and our associate office.

Philip has extensive experience in:- negotiated transactions, and

- sale by P&O of its Australian resorts
- sale of various businesses to Riviera Group
- purchase by Anglo American of the Shell coal group
- representing Mitsubishi on the formation of the BMA strategic alliance with BHP Billiton
- the IPO and ASX listing of Malachite Resources
- establishment of credit card loyalty programs for Pinpoint Pty Ltd.
Professional background
Philip is a former member of the NSW Government State Minerals Advisory Council, the Council of the Inter Pacific Bar Association and former Chairman of its Energy and Natural Resources Law Committee.A graduate of the University of New South Wales, he has Bachelor of Commerce (Merit) and Bachelor of Law degrees. Philip joined Freehills in 1980 and was admitted to the partnership in 1988.
