Current practice
Carl is a registered patent attorney in Australia and New Zealand. His current practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patent and design applications, international patent portfolio management and patent infringement and validity analysis including patent oppositions.Industry experience
Carl has experience across a range of electrical and electronic technologies, with particular experience in the areas of information communication technology, software and business method patents.
Prior to joining Freehills Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys, Carl spent six years with one of New Zealand’s largest and most prestigious intellectual property firms.
Professional background
Carl has completed a Bachelor of Engineering (electrical and electronic) with first class honours at University of Canterbury in New Zealand where he also earned a Masters of Engineering in management with distinction. Carl is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws.
He is a member of the Institute of Patent Attorneys New Zealand and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
