- advising and acting for clients such as Bio-Lab, Walter Constructions, Redland Shire Council and Caltex on environmental investigations and prosecutions
- advising on environmental issues, and in particular solid and liquid waste management, odour control and noise issues, in respect of the proposed development or acquisition of winery interests, and:
- acted for King Valley Wines Pty Ltd in the planning and EPA works approval appeal to establish a substantial winery in the King Valley, Victoria
- advised and represented Evans & Tate in respect of the installation of additional plant in its winery in the Swan Valley, Western Australia
- appeared for Evans & Tate in planning/odour litigation in the Western Australian Supreme Court. We advised Rosemount Estate in respect of its merger with Southcorp
- advised a Canadian company on its proposed acquisition of the Wingara Wine Group - acting for Wyndham City Council in significant panel hearing proceedings into the establishment of an industrial waste landfill and compost facility at Werribee, Victoria, and also acted for the developer of a putrescible waste landfill at Clayton, Victoria. Both actions involved consideration of complex landfill engineering design, soil and groundwater contamination, odour management and town planning issues.
- acting as project counsel for InterGen's development of a greenfield open cut coal mine, coal fired power station, electricity transmission system and waste water pipeline from Toowoomba to Millmerran, Queensland. We advised an all environmental, cultural heritage and native title aspects of this project, including environmental licensing, contamination and pollution control issues.
- advising Samancor on a successful bid to purchase BHP's manganese mining operations at Groote Eylandt in the Gulf of Carpentaria (Gemco), and the manganese processing facilities in Tasmanian (Temco), including property and environmental issues, soil and groundwater contamination, environmental licensing and mine site rehabilitation.
