auDA accepts final report of the 2007 Names Policy Panel

On 13 December 2007, the Australian Domain Name Administrator (auDA) accepted the final report of the 2007 Names Policy Panel (Panel) on the .au policy framework.

Overall, the Panel found that the current .au policy appropriately balances the need for people to be able to register domain names with the need to protect the integrity of the .au domain and make it user-friendly.

However, the Panel also recommended that the Transfers (Change of Registrant) Policy be changed to make it possible for a registrant to transfer their domain name licence for any reason, to another eligible entity.

The final report is available via the auDA website.
