Freehills adds nine to its partnership ranks
07 June 2007Freehills announced the appointment of nine new partners today in recognition of the firm’s commitment to rewarding innovation and outstanding service delivery to clients.
The appointments, which are effective from 1 July 2007, are spread nationally across the firm and across a number of practice areas, including Banking and Finance, Corporate, Projects, Revenue Law and Patent and Trade Mark Attorney Groups.
In delivering the announcement, Freehills’ Chief Executive Officer, Gavin Bell, said he was delighted to welcome the talented and dedicated group, comprising two women and seven men, to the firm’s partnership ranks.

Each individual’s strong technical expertise, ability to communicate and deliver practical solutions for clients, and exhibit strong commercial acumen in helping clients make important business decisions, has been key to their success and to that of the firm.”
Mr Bell went on to say that he and the firm’s partners look forward to the new partners’ invaluable input to the successful and sustainable future of the firm.
“New blood can help invigorate a partnership, and adds immeasurable value in the form of an even more diverse range of skills and experience, strong business networks, and a focus on taking the firm to even greater heights,” he said.
The two new female partner appointments also highlight the success of the firm’s Women at Freehills program, which continues to successfully implement initiatives designed to increase the number of women in the partnership, and enhance women lawyers’ career experience.
In a move that highlights the enormous depth of talent amongst senior lawyer ranks, as well as the firm’s ongoing commitment to providing career development opportunities for talented and driven people, Freehills has also promoted 51 lawyers into its senior associate ranks and two special counsel.
